Museum-institute after Komitas opened its doors in Yerevan as part of Armenian Genocide 100th anniversary. The museum consists of several rooms - concert hall, research center, music studio, library, publishing house and 8 halls where a huge intellectual heritage of the Master is presented. First proposal about the museum construction was made on May 30, 2013 during a meeting of Trustees' Board of All-Armenian Fund Hayastan. Fund decided to convey to Armenian Government former Cultural Palace in the park after Komitas. But this building was partially dilapidated. The project was funded by "Phoenix" fund philanthropist Gabriel Jambarjyan. Museum construction started on September 19, 2013. Project architect is Arthur Meschyan. During the museum inauguration architect said, in this case the building architecture wasn't important. The architecture, of course, has its place, but the museum is the people, not the building.

Property Development Company CJSC announced the launch of the construction of "Kamar" multifunctional business center in Yerevan by laying its foundation stone on November 6. The business center, designed in accordance with the most advanced international technologies, will be the first in Armenia to be certified by BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method), a global leader in the design and assessment of sustainable buildings based in the UK. The development of the unique "A" Class office building will comply with the modern energy efficiency and environmental standards, thus considerably elevating the overall standards of the commercial real estate in the country. Property Development Company CJSC, the owner of the building, has approached to the project with ultimate responsibility and care, highly prioritizing the buildings in this historical area. For several years before the start of construction works, the company has been organizing various public discussions with experts and beneficiaries to identify the most appropriate solutions and to insure high level of transparency throughout the entire process. The initiative started at least 5 years ago. Right at the beginning of the project the company organized an open architectural contest for the development of the concept by involving the best and most recognized engineers and architects from various countries. Committed to preserving the values of Armenian history, they have stored every single stone from the old building. Company further developed an architectural and engineering solution that highlights the historical importance and overall design of this part of the city. The main problem is that the complex should combine innovative solutions with the old constructions. The total value of the project is about US$ 37 million. IFC, a member of the World Bank Group, will provide a US$ 9 million loan and secure another US$ 9 million loan from DEG (Deutsche Investitions und Entwicklungsgesellschaft mbH). The rest of the investment will be provided by Property Development Company CJSC.

Hundreds of people packed a small outdoor ceremony at Fresno State to mark the start of construction of the Armenian Genocide Monument, which will be completed in time to mark next year's 100th anniversary of the genocide. Leaders of the Western Diocese of the Armenian Church, Western Prelacy of the Armenian Apostolic Church of America and Armenian Genocide Centennial Committee, Fresno joined local politicians, Fresno State leaders and throngs of community members at the event. The university set out 40 chairs, but a couple hundred spectators crammed around the site where the monument will be built. The primary message of the event was the importance of spreading awareness of the Armenian Genocide, which Fresno State Armenian Studies Coordinator Barlow Der Mugrdechian said killed as many as 1.5 million Armenians from 1915 to 1923. Der Mugrdechian said that on April 24, 1915, the Ottoman Turkish government began arresting and executing hundreds of Armenian religious, academic and political leaders. The stone-and-concrete monument will be dedicated on April 24, the 100th anniversary of the beginning of the genocide. It was designed by local architect Paul Halajian and will consist of nine pillars representing the six provinces of historic Armenia, Cilicia, the Diaspora and the Republic of Armenia. An incomplete halo will rest on top of the pillars, which is meant to symbolize both the damage left by the genocide and the unity of the Armenian people. It will be the first such monument marking the genocide on a U.S. college campus. It will be located on the Maple Mall walkway just south of the Satellite Student Union on Fresno State's campus. Fresno State Vice President for Administration Cynthia Teniente-Matson said this prime location will allow every single Fresno State student to see and learn from the monument.

The plan to turn Gyumri into a technological center can now be considered a reality in part, as Armenia's second largest city on Saturday launched its industrial park in a ceremony attended by high-ranking guests. The Gyumri TP is part of a larger project aimed to making Gyumri an industrial center equipped with high technologies, says Bagrat Yengibaryan, the director of the Enterprise Incubator Foundation. "This is an exceptional opportunity for Armenia in terms of training high-quality human resources and making investments based on them. International organizations' presence in Gyumri will, in turn, help create a highly-paid workforce which will have its impact on raising not only the education level but also the living standards," he told reporters covering the event. The ceremony was attended by President Serzh Sargsyan, Minister of Economy Karen Cshmarityan, Mayor of Gyumri Samvel Balasanyan and many other guests. Construction of the project started in 2012. The total floor area is 6500 square meters. Here are situated "Armtab" laboratory and educational laboratory room, laboratory of engineering and mechanics, rooms of companies "D-Link" and "E-Works", a multimedia studio and the auditorium.

On September 10 took place the solemn opening ceremony of the multifunctional block of flats built at Tsitsernakaberdi 1/2 in the capital. On the basis of the suggestions made by the special inter-departmental commission formed on the instruction of the RA President Serzh Sargsyan, within the scope of the RA Government decree 342-A, dated 04.04.2013, apartments in the newly-built block of flats have been allocated to the families whose purchased homes were lost as a result of the failure of construction carried out by a private developer at the address Arami 72-80 in Yerevan. The honor of opening was given to Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan and the director of new building developer company "D and H group"Vahe Petrosyan. It should be noted that a criminal case was launched by the Department of state interest defense of the RA Chief Prosecutor's Office in December 2011 concerning the case of grabbing big amounts by cheating and abusing confidence of the residents in 2005-2011. The developer of the failed building was "Gapbnakshin" Ltd. The total area of the building at Arami 72-80 was about 21 thousand square meters, but the developer sold 53 thousand square meters. One apartment in the building at Arami 72-80 was sold to 8 buyers! As a result of all machinations 476 families became the victims of dishonesty losing big amounts. The citizens had to turn to the President of the Republic expecting the state help in this issue. As a result the President instructed to form a special inter-departmental commission in March, 2012. Taking into account that the problem referred to 476 families it was vital to find a non-standard solution. A part of the citizens suffered the dishonesty were given apartments in this building at Tsitsernakaberdi 1/2 address, the other part was allocated flats in the building at Arami street. So the problem got a complete solution. The building built in accordance with all necessary standards and provided with all conveniences. The surrounding area of the complex with total area of 65 thousand square meters was completely improved: benches, dustbins, bowers, children's playground was constructed at this area. Today 476 families have got apartments, but there are still many who believe, that their housing problems also should be solved in the near future. Still many defrauded families did not received compensation for expropriated land and apartments located on the street Byuzand, district Kond and some other problematic developments. During the grand opening ceremony mayor of Yerevan told that all deceived residents will receive new houses. Committee on these issues now is considering what model to choose for solving the problem and how to find new investors.
