The Palazzo di Amore, the nearly eight-year project of real-estate investor Jeff Greene, has listed for US$195 million, making it one of the most expensive residential listings in the country. In Beverly Hills, the 10 hectares compound includes about 4920 square meters of living space, 12 bedrooms and 23 bathrooms across several buildings. A quarter-mile driveway runs past a vineyard before reaching the main home, an over 3250 square meters Mediterranean-style villa. A separate, roughly 1390 square meters entertainment center has a bowling alley, a theater that seats 50 and a dressing room, and a discotheque with a rotating dance floor. Other amenities include a Turkish-style spa and a 39 meters long reflecting pool. Mr. Greene, who made a fortune betting against subprime mortgages, bought the estate out of receivership for US$ 35 million in 2007 from Saudi businessman Mishaal K. Adham and his wife, while it was under construction. Mr. Greene said he bought the estate as an investment property, though he and his wife, Mei Sze Greene, were married there in 2007, with Mike Tyson as the best man. The name "palace of love" is a nod to their nuptials. The couple's main home is in Palm Beach, Fla. Mr. Greene said he always intended to sell the property, but construction wasn't completed "until literally a month ago." "Honestly, I didn't think it was going to be this much work," he said. He estimated he spent US$ 25 million to complete the home, which he said was a shell when he bought it. He said the property has been rented over the years, mostly to Saudi royalty. It was most recently listed for rent in September at US$ 475,000 a month. Mr. Greene spoke fondly of the property, but looking back on the process, he isn't nostalgic. "In hindsight, I never would have done this," he said.

Hundreds of people packed a small outdoor ceremony at Fresno State to mark the start of construction of the Armenian Genocide Monument, which will be completed in time to mark next year's 100th anniversary of the genocide. Leaders of the Western Diocese of the Armenian Church, Western Prelacy of the Armenian Apostolic Church of America and Armenian Genocide Centennial Committee, Fresno joined local politicians, Fresno State leaders and throngs of community members at the event. The university set out 40 chairs, but a couple hundred spectators crammed around the site where the monument will be built. The primary message of the event was the importance of spreading awareness of the Armenian Genocide, which Fresno State Armenian Studies Coordinator Barlow Der Mugrdechian said killed as many as 1.5 million Armenians from 1915 to 1923. Der Mugrdechian said that on April 24, 1915, the Ottoman Turkish government began arresting and executing hundreds of Armenian religious, academic and political leaders. The stone-and-concrete monument will be dedicated on April 24, the 100th anniversary of the beginning of the genocide. It was designed by local architect Paul Halajian and will consist of nine pillars representing the six provinces of historic Armenia, Cilicia, the Diaspora and the Republic of Armenia. An incomplete halo will rest on top of the pillars, which is meant to symbolize both the damage left by the genocide and the unity of the Armenian people. It will be the first such monument marking the genocide on a U.S. college campus. It will be located on the Maple Mall walkway just south of the Satellite Student Union on Fresno State's campus. Fresno State Vice President for Administration Cynthia Teniente-Matson said this prime location will allow every single Fresno State student to see and learn from the monument.

After almost 20 years, Tom Cruise is looking to offload his beloved home away from home in the picturesque mountains of Telluride, Colorado. The 1.2 million square meters property has been listed by Telluride Sotheby's International Realty for a cool US$ 59 million. The almost 930 square meters estate was of course the setting for the Vanity Fair shoot in which he and then-wife Katie Holmes introduced their baby girl Suri to the world back in 2006, while they spent their precious first few months as a new family holed up there together during that summer. And while the actor maintained ownership of the sprawling property following his divorce from his third wife, his estate agent Bill Fandel tells The Wall Street Journal he has decided to sell the home as he hasn't had the time or opportunity to go there as much as he would like in recent years. The main house, which was constructed in an authentic wooden lodge style, features four bedrooms and six bathrooms, as well as cosy log fires to keep the place warn during those cooler winter months. It comes complete with a spacious library and an additional recreation room perfect for entertaining children and the young at heart. While the outdoors is all too inviting, with a private trail system leading to some of the most spectacular mountain views in the state, perfect for a brisk walk or run, there's also a gym for those cold or rainy days. While several properties acquired during his five-and-a-half-year marriage to Katie were divided up during their divorce, Cruise's Telluride mansion - which is an easy 12-minute drive from downtown and the Telluride Ski Resort - was not among them.

It may be known as the "Villa of Smiles" but since Robin Williams' death, his Napa Valley home for sale listing is now tinted with sadness. The late actor had put the home on the market months before his August 11 death, saying he could no longer afford the sprawling mansion in the middle of California wine country. While many celebrity mansions are staged and sanitized so that their owner's identity is hidden, Robin's hand can be seen throughout the main house and the 2.6 million square meters property. Featuring a staggering 1800 square meters five bedroom, six full and five half bathrooms main house and a four bedroom guest house, the 'ranch' as Robin called it, had provided a hideaway from Hollywood for the star. However, he had tried to sell the home in 2012 for US$ 35 million but did not find any buyers, then in April re-listed the home for the reduced price of US$ 29.9 million. The large property also features a stunning infinity pool abutting the main house that is an amazing 20 meters long. Also contained within the grounds is a seven-stall horse barn, tennis court, hiking and riding trails, a spring-fed pond, and, more than 100 olive trees which produces gallons of olive oil every year, and vineyard which produces Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc varietals.

Apple just signed a development agreement with the City of Claremont, which will allow it to build its third massive solar farm in North Carolina. When finished, the 405 thousand square meters farm is expected to produce 17.5 megawatts at a development cost of US$ 55 million. The new development will be the company's third solar farm not only in North Carolina, but within Catawba County. The first is a 20 megawatt farm located on the company's campus in Maiden, and in 2013 Apple gained the rights for construction of a second 20 megawatt farm in Conover. The farms are used to power the Maiden iCloud data center, which like all the company's data centers runs on 100 percent renewable energy. The latest approval required the City of Claremont to annex land that was not in the city's corporate limits, but in its extraterritorial jurisdiction. A separate agreement allows for a land swap between Apple and the City, with Apple returning two parcels of land to be used for greenways, public recreation and other public purposes. The project is expected to create 75 jobs during construction, which Apple has pledged to source locally if possible.
