On April 21 billionaire Donald Trump will visit Georgia, told Silk Road Group representative during his interview to News-eorgia. The purpose of the visit is a presentation of Trump's Batumi new project. As we reported earlier, on March10th last year, during the visit of Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili to New York, the Trump Organization and the Georgian company Silk Road Group signed a protocol of intent to develop two Trump managed skyscrapers in Georgia, one in Batumi and another in Tbilisi. The start of construction is scheduled in 2013 and would be overseen by the Silk Road Group, one of the largest private investment companies in the region and the Trump Organization partner for the project. The deal, which the partners estimate about US$ 250-300 million, calls for two projects. The Trump Tower in Batumi would be a part of a planned by Silk Road complex that includes a casino, an exhibition hall and a marina. The residential buildings will each contain 100 apartments and rise nearly 40 stories - average by New York standards, but nearly twice the size of the republic's tallest structures.
From 28 to 30 October in the capital of Adjara Batumi, within the scope of "Batumi Building & Design International Fair" will be held the 10th Annual, anniversary construction exhibition "Our House". Expo center "Expomedia" reported, that in exhibition will participate companies from Georgia, Turkey and Iran. This year Armenia will take part in the exhibition for the first time. This is the good opportunity to present products of Armenian companies abroad. The purpose of the exhibition is to associate Armenian and foreign companies working in the field of construction and renovation. Exhibition's thematic sections are; design, construction, renovation, furniture, doors and windows, products for external and internal repairs, technology, gardening plots, exterior and interior design.
The Love Sculpture of Batumi symbolizes love story of Ali and Nino. The most remarkable feature of these sculptures is that metal man and a woman always in motion, and they meet each other almost every 10 minutes. The author of this creation is a famous Georgian artist Tamara Kvesitadze (architect by education), started to make dolls in Tbilisi to earn a living in the 1990s. Then she moved to the United States, where her work attracted the interest of some art dealers and galleries. "Man and Woman" started its way many years ago. At first a small-scale version of the composition was sold in Italy, then it was displayed at an exhibition in London and today, a 7 meter sculpture stands on the seashore boulevard of Batumi. The most difficult for Batumi's Love sculpture was to create a new version in a huge-scale. It takes about 10 months for German "Art Engineer" company to realize the project into life. The resistance of these 7 ton statues was count on a wind, climate and moisture resistance. The lovers start their motion at 7 P.M every day and are run by the computer with selective color lighting, and the sea is perfectly complete this moving composition.
Georgian president Mikheil Saakashvili laid the foundation for the construction of Alphabetic Tower in Batumi, a Black Sea resort town. 130 meter tower will be decorated with 33 letters (7 meters each) from Georgian alphabet. The top of the tower will be decorated with spherical glass construction. Inside this sphere will be a rotating restaurant and an observatory, making one full turn in 60 minutes, which will allow the visitors enjoy the view of the city and the sea. Alphabetic tower will be also equipped with TV studios and four elevators. "The Georgian alphabet is our DNA, our genetic code. Today, we kick off construction of Batumi's Eiffel Tower and we need to complete it in five months," Saakashvili told journalists. The tower is designed by Spanish architect Albert Domingo Cabo and the construction works will be implemented by Georgian company "Magi Style". Within the next days, construction of Batumi funicular will also start on Pheria Mountain and the negotiations are being conducted with "Doppelmayr Garaventa Group" Austrian-Swiss company which is world's leader in this field. Also mention this company recently realized the construction of the longest ropeway in the world in Tatev monastery, Armenia.
Recently Chairman of the administration of the President of Georgia reported about construction of high class residential complexes by American magnate Donald Trump. The protocol of intent between the Trump Organization and the Georgian building company Silk Road Group has been recently signed during the visit of Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili in New York, where he attend the UN General Assembly Session. According to Executive Vice President of Trump Organization, Michael Cohen, they intend to build complex with unique architecture, interior design and comfort. Construction site for the future complex in Tbilisi is likely was selected during the Cohen's July visit to Georgia. Preliminary intentions of Trump Organization consists construction of housing both in Tbilisi and Batumi. It is interesting to note, that house prices in Georgia today, the lowest in the region and in terms of investment attractiveness, this project raises some doubts. However, the Government of Georgia makes every effort to create a more attractive environment for investments in the country and it is likely to succeed today.
