The design project of craft brewery plant Darget belongs to architectural studio Storaket. That was a very interesting and responsible challenge for the studio to design the first enterprise for the production of craft beer. For these purposes Storaket specialists studied international progressive experience in designing high quality breweries. The customer specified the task: the brewery must have a restaurant and a garden. As a result, the plant was designed and built as a complex of two separate buildings, the plant and the restaurant, which also includes a beer garden. The plant structure is metallic. Steel frames hold wall sandwich panels, the roof, and in some places on the second floor, also the reinforced concrete coating. Both the plant and the restaurant have the second, mezzanine floor. The sizes of the brewery plant are 21х80m (2050 square meters). It is a single-storey building, the height of which does not exceed 9.5 meters. There is a 6-meter mezzanine floor in the plant building, designed for office. The main sizes of the restaurant are 17х32m (760 square meters). It is a single-storey building of the same size as the plant and with mezzanine floor. Darget craft brewery is located on Sevan highway, 9 km away from Yerevan. It occupies 3.500m2 area. Unlike other plants the brewery is not fenced. Anyone who wishes to attend the factory can enter the building. Besides, the facade of the craft beer factory is made of glass, which makes it possible to observe the whole process of beer production. The plant and the resturant are separated from each other by a long and narrow glazed corridor, from where visitors can also watch the process of brewing. The glazed corridor leads to the beer garden and open cafe (685m2). Behind the factory and in front of it there are parking lots.

Recently, the reconstruction works of Hayk square restarted in Vanadzor city, Armenia. The Committee of Territorial Administration approved the reconstruction project of the square at the first stage. Now the project is at the second stage of approval, after which the design works will begin. The author of the project is the chief architect of Vanadzor Suren Abovyan. The square needs a fundamental renovation, since the last time large-scale repairs were carried out here in the late 80s of last century. Besides, with the course of time it became necessary to meet modern standards. Therefore, the aim of the project is to build a square that fits modern standards and to organize the leisure of the people. The area of the square is 1 ha, where it is planned to start the works on placement of small architectural forms and structures, lightening, landscaping and laying the concrete slabs. Since the main square of the third largest city in Armenia is a historical and cultural place, no major architectural changes are foreseen here. The system of the fountains will be completely rebuilt and will meet international standards, in its new style and with more powerful lighting and sound effects. The central part of the square, which is for circular traffic, will be decorated with a stone carpet. It is planned also to replace all the concrete slabs and the stage of the square, plant decorative trees and flowers on Hayk square and Khorenatsi avenue. In the place of the monument to Kirov it is planned to build a clock tower 17m high, which will also be an observation tower. It is important that the construction work in Vanadzor will not be limited to the reconstruction of the Hayk square. A real construction boom is expected here, since in addition to the reconstruction of the square, a series of projects were presented on the improvement and modernization of Artsakh Square, the youth park, the museum of pictorial art and its adjacent park. And that is not the full list of the scheduled works. It is also planned to build and reconstruct sports schools, carry out road recovery works.

The building of Leninakan railroaders’ Palace of Culture, which was later renamed to Sevyan Cultural Center, was built in 1926 and started to function in 1929. After the earthquake in 1988 this unique building with its exclusive style, original and interior design, covered with frescoes, functioned for two more years, and then there was a big fire, after which the building gradually became dilapidated and filled with garbage. There were many reconstruction projects for this building which, unfortunately, are still pending. This year the issue of this unique cultural center was finally resolved. A memorandum was signed between the Ballet 20-21 Foundation and the Municipality of Gyumri, according to which the Sevyan Center will be reconstructed and will function in a more innovative and multi-profile format, a vivid proof of which is the Kharatyan Experimental Art Center, that will function in this building. The design project has started as a sub-grant within the framework of Armenian General Benevolent Union and the Eurasia Partnership Foundation's CS Bridge Programme, financed by European Union. The former building with its adjacent area (about 1668 m2) was provided to the fund gratuitously for 99 years. The municipality is responsible for exempting the territory from illicit buildings and kiosks before the start of the construction works, which will begin in September 2020 and will last 2 years. Until then, the future design project will be elaborated by Canadian architect of Armenian origin Azat Shishmanyan from architectural studio NEUF, Canada, together with Storaket architectural studio. Azat Shishmanyan plans to keep the facade, walls and arches and Ferdinand Manukyan's "Sasun Dance" mosaic in his design project, while the innovative solutions will be inside the building. According to the preliminary concept, two floors will be restored with about 3200m2 area, and according to architectural solution the third floor will be added in one part of the building. The center will be multifunctional, it will have a two-stages hall for 500 people, three studios, dressing rooms, a conference room, a library, an exhibition room, café and a souvenire store. The adjacent garden will also be improved. The structure of the center will enable the passersby to see what's going on inside and feel the creative mood of the architectural solution. A. Shishmanyan in his design considers the dialogue between the old and the new. Kharatyan Experimental Arts Center, which will function in this building, will welcome about 120 students. There are already arrangements with Armenian and foreign representatives of dance art, who will teach in the center. According to Shishmanyan each building must be a source of inspiration, regardless of its targeted function, even if it is a hospital.

Climbing up the stairs of Yerevan Cascade is an interesting and pleasant challenge, the reward of which is the opportunity to admire the beautiful view of the city from the great height. Yet, after the fourth platform of Cascade the white travertine miracle is abruptly interrupted, and a giant black-fenced cavity opens in front of us, which was dug in 2007 with an intention to finally complete Cascade stairway project. The construction of the Cascade was finished and finally equipped by the charity of philanthropist Gerard Cafesjian, who planned to build a museum at the end of the stairway with New-York-based architect David Hotson’s design. The basic works were started. But in the course of the works it turned out that the design several times exceeded the planned budget. The project was cancelled due to the disagreement between the client and the architect. That part of Cascade, which is 78 meters away from the Revived Armenia Monument and covers an area of about 9.8 hectares remains unfinished. Architect Aslan Mkhitaryan is one of the co-authors of the Cascade complex. He has developed two design ideas for finishing the Cascade construction. The projects were sent to the Prime-Minister of Armenia and the mayor of Yerevan city. In the first project Aslan Mkhitaryan plans to build a universal concert hall named after Charles Aznavour in the central part of Cascade. On the left side of the Cascade, it is planned to build a hotel complex, and on the right side there will be an open-air hall for 3000 people. In the second project instead of the hotel the architect suggests to build a museum (1200 m2), as it was planned by G. Cafesjian, and on the right side there will be an open-air concert hall (for 1500 people) named after Charles Aznavour. According to the design it is planned to have also 1600m2 agora, fountains, café, recreational and leisure places. The museum and the concert hall will be covered with solar panels, which will provide the power supply of the area. The open air escalators will also function, taking people to the monument. The design and construction works of Cascade complex lasted a long time, and they still are going on. First time it was Alexander Tamanyan, who gave the idea of reconstruction in 1924, and the project entered the implementation phase in 1976, designed by the architects Jim Torosyan, Sargis Gurzadyan and Aslan Mkhitaryan. By the way, the design of Cascade has been changed several times during the construction process. The archive of Yerevanproject Institute maintains Cascade's last project, which the authors finished in 1987-88. According to that project the last - upper area of the Cascade would have been an open-air exhibition, dedicated to Armenian medieval architecture and surrounded with fountains. From the open-air exhibition place the stairs would rise to the platform of the Revived Armenia Monument. Yet the construction works were postponed due to the earthquake in 1988 and collapse of Soviet Union in 1991. The open-air exhibition hall was not built.

In February 2016 the construction of new educational and sports complex began in administrative district Avan on Tsarav Aghbyur street in Yerevan. This project is developed by Gazprom Armenia within the framework of the large-scale project “Gazprom to Children”. The complex is located next to the area built as part of the social project “Affordable Housing for Young Specialists”, and is designed to provide educational and sports occupation for children of this area. The complex will have a kindergarten, a school, an indoor ice-skating rink and a fitness center with its buildings and infrastructures. The project, designed by Yerevanproject CJSC, won the first two prizes in the nominations "The Best Project for a Multifunctional Complex" and "The Best Project for an Educational Building" in the tender, which was announced in 2016 by National Association of Surveyors and Designers of Russia (NOPRIZ). The common entrance to the educational and sports complex starts from the street opposite the Botanical Garden, in the upper part of which there is a boulevard. The first from the left is the building of the indoor ice rink. The total area of the three-story building is 6241 square meters. The core of the building is the hall with artificial ice, designed for 350 seats. Its size is 42x66 m, for the ice arena it is 30x60 m. The fitness center consists of universal stadium with 440 seats and separate sport halls. The building has also an underground parking for 74 cars (2594 square meters). The education center of the complex is intended for 700 students. The school is three-four story building with total area 12,457 square meters. The project envisages two different buildings to divide the student flows of different age groups. The secondary school building is for 150 students, the primary school building is for 550 pupils. The school will have an indoor pool (12,5x25 m) and an open area for summer activities, which can serve as a field for futsal. 2-3 story kindergarten with floor area 3622 square meters intended to serve 190 children divided into 8 groups. The flat roof of the kindergarten will be used as a playground. The kindergarten will also have a small 0,6-0,8m deep swimming pool (6x3 m), locker rooms, a coach room and a first-aid post. The interior design was done by Storaket architectural studio. The buildings of the complex are equipped with wheelchair ramps, elevators, bathrooms and wardrobes for people with disabilities. Currently, the works on interior decoration and improvement of the boulevard are going on and will be completed this spring.
