The 4th regional specialized "Construction and Interior 2011" exhibition organized by the "Prom Expo" will be conducted from April 29 to May 1 in sports & concert complex after K. Demirchyan. Businessmen from Iran, Germany, Great Britain, Italy and Russia have also been invited to participate in the exhibition. Commercial director of the "Prom Expo" Vahagn Mirijanyan told Armenpress: "Overall 160 businessmen will participate in the event. There are representatives of some international companies that are interested in Armenian market or have already started their activities in republic. But the main purpose of exhibition is promoting and presenting the potential of local producers". Also mention that recently passed another construction exhibition "CAUCASUS BUILDING & RECONSTRUCTION EXPO 2011" showed significantly reduced interest in such kind of presentations, however, let's hope that all interested parties will show more interest in this exhibition. Expo Has Opened "Construction and Interior 2011" exhibition has opened today. There were about 100 companies taking part in expo, which number was slightly more than in previous CAUCASUS BUILDING & RECONSTRUCTION EXPO 2011. However the number of participant companies is reducing from year to year, meaning that firms are searching alternative ways of promoting their new products & services.
The last piece of turf was laid on Tuesday at the Olympic Stadium, symbolising the completion of building work on the 80 000-seat flagship venue for the 2012 London Games. Former Olympic sprinter Frank Fredericks used a shovel to lay down the symbolic last piece of grass on the infield, 16 months before next year's games. London organisers and International Olympic Committee officials visited the stadium to mark the milestone. Fredericks was among the members of the IOC coordination commission taking part in the ceremony at the Olympic Park in east London. The IOC panel is making its eighth visit to London to check on preparations for the games. Construction on the $777-million stadium began in May 2008. "The Olympic Stadium has been finished on time and under budget," Olympic Delivery Authority chairperson John Armitt said. A total of 360 rolls of turf were needed to cover the 9 000-square metre infield. The surface of the running track will be laid later this year. "We wouldn't want anyone to run away with the idea that this stadium is ready to stage an Olympic track and field championship tomorrow," organising committee chairperson Sebastian Coe said. "With one year and a few months to go, this is a great place to be."
Yesterday, on the 13th of April, German well-known company OBO Bettermann held introductory seminar at Armenia Marriott Hotel. The company this year celebrates its 100-year anniversary and is one of the leading European companies offering information technology and electrical network services. The seminar was organized by the Root ITSP, which is the official representative of OBO Bettermann in Armenia. Representatives of leading contructors of the republic were invited to participate in the event. Following the introduction by Root ITSP CEO Gegham Sargisyan, specially invited representatives of OBO Bettermann Waldemar Mader and Tarmo Riit took the floor. Mr. Riit described in detail the use of company products, and expressed hope that the presented systems and products will succeed in the Armenian market. It is important to mention that in contrast to the European market, where OBO Bettermann's production has taken a leading position in its sector, the existing technology of construction works in Armenia will not allow to use such products widely. However, we strongly recommend all interested Armenian companies to get acquainted with OBO Bettermann's proposals at the Armenian representative office, or visit the official website of the company.
In sports & concert complex after K. Demirchyan has opened 8th international specialized exhibition CAUCASUS BUILDING & RECONSTRUCTION EXPO 2011 that lasted three days, from 8-10 of April 2011. Welcome speech was delivered by Prime Minister of RA Tigran Sargsyan, Minister of Urban Development Vardan Vardanyan and others. According to Tigran Sargsyan, this exhibition will definitely contribute to the development of the industry. : Certainly, we all wish that such events serve for strengthening business relationship between organizations, raising reputation, business development, as well as for information enrichment in construction market. : Despite the wide geography of the exhibition, where besides Armenian companies were also represented organizations from Turkey, Georgia, Belarus, Ukraine and Iran, we should be realistic and accept that the interest in exhibitions has somehow decreased. : According to the organizer, LOGOS EXPO Center, instead of last year's nearly 100 participants the number of companies taking park in exhibition this year hardly topped 60. The reason for participants decrease may be ongoing crisis in construction sector, or perhaps interest decrease in such kind of exhibitions when internet communication is widely spreading. Participation in exhibitions requires significant expenses, when internet is almost free and has unlimited business opportunities.
