As reported news.am, Yerevan Circus art-director Sos Petrosyan announced, that the circus building restoration will be completed in October 2014, a year later than the scheduled date. The Armenian circus restoration began in September 2011 and would be completed in October 2013. According to Mr. Petrosyan, construction delays are associated with design changes, and as a result, restoration plan changes into new construction. The new building will have two-story parking, and the "riding arena" will rise by 6 meters higher. In this regard, the circus building roof also needs to be raised to 6 meters higher. Subsequently, the building designers decided to demolish the old building and to build the new one. The new circus building differs from the old one by height, seats will be increased by 500, the underground floor and 3 arenas will be added, and so on. According to preliminary data the restoration budget was US$ 10 million, but the new construction will double the budget. The Yerevan Circus old building was built in 1962 and never has been renovated.

Two hydro power plants (HPPs)-namely, Meghri and Gharachikar-will be built on the Arax River with Armenian-Iranian cooperation. The groundbreaking ceremony of Meghri HPP was held on November 8 on the Armenian side of the border, reported News.am. The agreement on the hydro power plant construction received in 2007-2008. Two inter-governmental agreements have been ratified by the parliaments of both countries. Meghri HPP will have an installed capacity 130 megawatts and produce about 800 million kW/h electricity per year. The plant will be constructed in compliance with the internationally accepted environmental standards. The investor from the Iranian side is "Tavan Ab Araz Company" which, in line with the already-signed agreement, will resolve all matters connected with Meghri HPP's construction and starting of its operation. The construction will be carried out within 5 years and, 15 years thereafter, the plant will be transferred to the Armenian side at no cost. Also, an agreement is reached whereby solely local manpower will be used for the plant's construction.

"Hyatt Hotels" Corporation announced that a Hyatt affiliate has entered into an agreement with "Ginekar" Limited Liability Company for a Hyatt Place hotel in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia, reported The Financial. Hyatt Place Yerevan is the First Hyatt Place hotel in CIS countries and the third Hyatt Place hotel under development in Europe, joining Hyatt Place Amsterdam Airport and Hyatt Place Zurich Airport. Slated to open in the spring of 2013, Hyatt Place Yerevan will offer 96 guestrooms, in addition to more than 120 square meters of meeting space, an open market with made-to-order meals and snacks around the clock, a restaurant offering breakfast, lunch and dinner; a bar; a four-station e-room, and a well-equipped fitness center. As Hyatt Hotels Corporation reported, the hotel will be located next to Republic Square, the heart of Yerevan's city center, and is in close proximity to the Government House, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the National Gallery, and Abovyan Street, the city's main thoroughfare with many boutiques, cafes and gift shops. According to Director General of the South Caucasus Railways (SCR) Viktor Rebets, the project to connect Armenia's international Zvartnots airport and the Yerevan underground with a commuter train service will soon get off the drawing board, reported Armenian mass media. A trilateral memorandum about the intention to build a commuter train link was signed among the RA minister of transport and communications Manuk Vardanyan, the SCR Director General Viktor Rebets and the Armenia International Airports general manager Marcelo Wende on May 4. The new railway will link the Charbakh station of the Yerevan underground and the international airport, and to be built within a year. The length of the rail link is about 7.8 kilometers. Also an 810-meter-long tunnel is expected to be built. The Armenian Government in last November approved the program to build an international logistics center and transportation infrastructures in the territory neighboring Zvartnots International Airport. New railway is a part of the project of free economic zone which also include highway construction. The realization of the project is expected to facilitate access to the city for passengers at Zvartnots as well as provide a link between the airport's cargo terminal and the Karmir Blur railway station.

As reported news.am, the Technopark building with total floor area 6500 square meters is planned to be build in Gyumri city's technological zone, Armenian Economy Minister's advisor Vahe Danielyan told to reporters on April 26. With the bid price 1.67 billion AMD ($US 4.3 million), two construction companies, Bagramyanshin and Akhuryan Koopshin, won the Government invited tender. As per Danielyan, the construction will last eighteen months. About twenty companies will operate in the new technological center. The latter will have laboratories, an educational center, and business infrastructures. Next to Technopark, D-Link International Pte Ltd, a worldwide leader in designing and manufacturing of networking, broadband and digital electronics, also plan to build its regional office.
