Georgian president Mikheil Saakashvili laid the foundation for the construction of Alphabetic Tower in Batumi, a Black Sea resort town. 130 meter tower will be decorated with 33 letters (7 meters each) from Georgian alphabet. The top of the tower will be decorated with spherical glass construction. Inside this sphere will be a rotating restaurant and an observatory, making one full turn in 60 minutes, which will allow the visitors enjoy the view of the city and the sea. Alphabetic tower will be also equipped with TV studios and four elevators. "The Georgian alphabet is our DNA, our genetic code. Today, we kick off construction of Batumi's Eiffel Tower and we need to complete it in five months," Saakashvili told journalists. The tower is designed by Spanish architect Albert Domingo Cabo and the construction works will be implemented by Georgian company "Magi Style". Within the next days, construction of Batumi funicular will also start on Pheria Mountain and the negotiations are being conducted with "Doppelmayr Garaventa Group" Austrian-Swiss company which is world's leader in this field. As Building.co.uk reports, work on Roman Abramovich's £20m secret nightclub underneath Chelsea's Stamford Bridge football stadium may be delayed after cleaners inadvertently drenched the venue's high-tech stage and sound system. Nightclub's £500,000 speaker system and hydraulic stage were flooded by water that leaked into the venue from the stadium during weekend cleaning of the football club's east stand. Work on the club, which includes a 4m high waterfall as well as the hydraulically operated stage, was scheduled to be completed in late November but sources said the finish date is now likely to slip into late December. Stadium cleaners used jet-powered hoses to wash down the seating area in the east stand directly above the club's stage and toilet area. To prevent any future water ingress, stadium authorities going to use a mop and bucket when they're cleaning the stand, rather than jet-powered hoses."
